About Academy360 Youth

Academy360 Youth is a 1-week intensive summer workshop specializing in film, writing and performance. Our workshops are designed for youths with little or no experience, who want to develop their creative potential in our exciting & encouraging atmosphere.

Academy360 Youth is taught through a variety of ways—from classroom discussions to hands-on projects, our innovative approach insures a well-rounded entertainment education. Collaboration is central to Academy360 — so kids get lots of practice working with each other to create the final class project.

Our team of faculty and staff is as good as it gets! Successful industry insiders, as well as seasoned educators lead the classes.

Academy360 Youth derives its name from a full view (360 degrees) of the entertainment industry that our workshops provide. We believe in exploration – that´s why each class offers three different introductions to the entertainment world: filmmaking, writing and performance.

Film: We teach what really goes into making a film; from directing and producing, to figuring out how it all comes together. Learn how your favorite movies got onto the big screen and how to do it yourself!

Writing: From the stage to the screen, learn about the different styles of writing for entertainment. We teach you how to write for stand-up comedy, sketches and screenplays.

Performance: From stand-up, to improvisation, to on-camera acting, you’ll learn the techniques to perform them all.

Class Performance: At the end of each workshop, a class performance and screening of final projects will be held at the Irish American Heritage Center’s Auditorium. Students will collaborate to create a full-scale production.

The writers develop the content; the actors perform it and the filmmakers capture and produce it. Friends & family are invited to see the students’ hard work and ideas come alive on-stage! Included in the price of the Academy360 Youth, is a professionally recorded DVD of the class performance.

Classes are led and taught by Academy360 founder Len Austrevich, as well as Greg Glienna, the creator of Meet the Parents and T. Sean Shannon, a seasoned writer who has held senior positions at both Saturday Night Live and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
